Mac Menu Bar and Dock Access

If enabled by your installation, Genie adds a small menu bar icon on macOS so you can reach it quickly from anywhere.

  • Open Genie directly from macOS, even when you are not starting from Script Workspace
  • Show/Hide the UI window
  • Open Settings/Preferences
  • Jump to recent conversations
  • Quit the helper
  • Look at the right side of the macOS menu bar for the Genie icon.
  • If you don’t see it, launch the Genie helper from Applications or your plugin host—then the icon will appear.

Click the Genie icon in the macOS menu bar and choose the Genie window action to bring the assistant forward. This is useful when you want to ask a question, review history, open settings, or use non-Script Workspace workflows without first opening FileMaker Script Workspace.

If the Genie window is minimized, click its Dock icon to bring it back before continuing capture or apply actions.

  • Pin the UI to a space/desktop for fast switching.
  • Use the menu bar while FileMaker is full-screen to bring Genie forward quickly.
  • Use Dock restore when the window is minimized and not visible.
