Mac Menu Bar and Dock Access
If enabled by your installation, Genie adds a small menu bar icon on macOS so you can reach it quickly from anywhere.

What you can do from the menu bar
Section titled “What you can do from the menu bar”- Open Genie directly from macOS, even when you are not starting from Script Workspace
- Show/Hide the UI window
- Open Settings/Preferences
- Jump to recent conversations
- Quit the helper
How to find it
Section titled “How to find it”- Look at the right side of the macOS menu bar for the Genie icon.
- If you don’t see it, launch the Genie helper from Applications or your plugin host—then the icon will appear.
Open Genie without Script Workspace
Section titled “Open Genie without Script Workspace”Click the Genie icon in the macOS menu bar and choose the Genie window action to bring the assistant forward. This is useful when you want to ask a question, review history, open settings, or use non-Script Workspace workflows without first opening FileMaker Script Workspace.
Restore when minimized in Dock
Section titled “Restore when minimized in Dock”If the Genie window is minimized, click its Dock icon to bring it back before continuing capture or apply actions.

- Pin the UI to a space/desktop for fast switching.
- Use the menu bar while FileMaker is full-screen to bring Genie forward quickly.
- Use Dock restore when the window is minimized and not visible.
