Troubleshooting and Recovery
If you encounter issues while using Genie, use this hub to quickly locate the most relevant fix. Each guide below focuses on a specific problem area with clear steps and visuals.
Quick first checks
Section titled “Quick first checks”- Make sure the FileMaker Script Workspace is open and front-most.
- Click a script step to restore focus, then press
Cmd+Conce. - In macOS System Settings, confirm Accessibility is enabled for FileMaker/the Genie host.
- Retry the action once after the above steps.

When to ask for help
Section titled “When to ask for help”If an issue persists after following the relevant guide, capture a short screen recording or screenshots of the error and note the approximate time it occurred. This helps support correlate logs and diagnose faster.
